Happy 2008!

Ok, so I finally have 5 minutes to sit and think about our blog. I've got some really cute photos of Mackenzie and her cousins Ethan and Jordan in front of the Christmas tree at "Uncle" Staci and Uncle Jake's house this Christmas. (Yes, I think Staci thinks its kind of cool that she is an uncle - because she referred to herself as "Uncle Staci" when she was talking in third person to Mackenzie.) I will have to upload those soon so everyone can see them.

As for the gifts, as you can imagine - a 4 1/2 month old child has no interest in her presents except to eat the paper they came in. We almost had an incident with some tissue paper that got soggy and ended up in her mouth, but mom rescued her before it became serious.

On the food front - the baby enjoyed Rice cereal throughout the month of December and came home to begin a new regimen of Oatmeal. I think she liked the Rice cereal better, but she's acquiring the taste for the oatmeal. I think it's just such a different texture, that she's trying to get used to it. I bought some sippy cups for her, and put water in them and let her "test drive" them during her cereal feasts. It's kind of cool to watch her grab the handles and bring it up to her mouth. She LOVES water! I think I will stay away from the juice for awhile.

She had her 4 month shots yesterday and seems to be doing much better after this round than the first round. She's acting a lot more normal than she did last time. Maybe last time I expected her to feel sick so she did, and this time I expected her to do better so she is!? Who knows......

As for resolutions - I don't really make them. I am trying to stay away from the fat and sugar I've been consuming for the past 6 months, and I am making a strong effort to get on the treadmill every day. Let's just say that when the baby wakes up 5 times a night (which she did last night) it is hard to want to put on tennis shoes and a jog bra instead of heading back to bed at nap time. But I did it! Even if it was only for 20 minutes!

Happy New Year! I'd love to hear your resolutions!

The only resolution I make every year is to be able to look back at the end of each year and see that I have grown and am a better person than I was the year before. Some years are better than others :)
