Well, our house has been on the market for 45 days now and we've only had 2 showings! I can't believe it! We dropped the price 2 times already and are moving out of it July 15 sold, rented or otherwise!
We head to Virginia the week of the 23rd to go house hunting - or should I say, Townhouse hunting..... hopefully we can find something.
Wish us luck!

Ok, Ok already

Well, we've had a lot going on here. Phil came home around 19 MARCH and since then everything has just been a whirlwind of activity.
We had to get the house ready to sell because we are moving to Norfolk/Suffolk, VA in July sometime. It's been on the market 24 days now and so far, zero showings..... I guess we need to list it online in some other places.
We went to Myrtle Beach last weekend and had a family photo taken - yes, I look like I could lose a few pounds and I plan to now that I am not in physical therapy for my back and can actually move without hurting.

Hurry Up and wait....
Well, here we are in the final days of waiting for Phil to come home. I feel like it's last March when, in the course of 3 days we got a total of 3 3 month extensions...... He was originally supposed to be home today, Sunday night. Then Monday morning, then Tuesday morning. Now we're to Wednesday morning.......
Can I say that I never once prayed for patience, but God decided that I needed a lesson I guess. Phil too. :)

Final preparations
(This picture was taken today by Kristen while we were at the park!)We are in the phase of final preparations for Phil's return home!!!!! While I can't say for sure when he's coming home - because it changes constantly - he should arrive soon!
Some of the other wives and myself are planning some of their homecoming festivities.... I am going to order some cakes tomorrow and we're going to decorate the Battery and barracks on Saturday!
I can't believe the time has FINALLY come for him to come home...... It's like our life can be taken off "hold" and we can start living it again.

I've been doing a little primping, although you can't tell from this photo. I've been trying to get a nice "palette" on my face, but I'm all broken out right now. Hopefully they clear up in time....I even decided that if the weather is warm enough, I will wear a cute skirt to pick him up. I feel like such a girl! :)

Been awhile, I know...
I know, it's been like a month since I posted anything. We've been busy cleaning the house and getting ready for Phil to come home (FINALLY) from Iraq. It's been a long 17 months, but I think it's been a wonderful growth opportunity for both of us.
I am nervous as heck about him coming home. He doesn't know that I've lost all but 3 lbs of the baby weight.... It'll be a surprise because all I said was, "I'm not where I want to be". Which, I'm still not.
When I think about it from a realistic point of view, I know he loves us and that I have nothing to worry about. He's the type of person who wouldn't have married anyone he didn't love "warts and all" as my mom says. I know he's chomping at the bit to get his hands on the baby, too.
In a couple days I will have new photos to post and will. She's getting so big - she ate green beans last night - not the puree'd baby food but the ones from the can. And she had a strawberry in one of those mesh feeder things. She sits up, she says "da da da" and "bla bla bla" and talks and sings "la la la". She made a move to crawl on Saturday but only went backwards. I hope she holds off on that one til Daddy comes home. God knows he deserves to see at least one of the major milestones.
More to come....

5 lbs to go!
Yeah - I have 5 lbs to go before I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight! Of course, when I got pregnant, I was trying to lose the 15 lbs I had gained since getting married, so in reality, I need to drop a total of 21 more lbs.
I know part of it is because I've had this nasty upper respiratory infection along with Mackenzie - so I have little appetite for food. I've been drinking lots of juice and water, and I honestly thought the amount of sugar in the juice would make me gain weight this week.... I guess when you limit what you eat and stay pretty much on a liquid diet, you lose weight. Who knew?
We're getting better - Mackenzie slept in her own bed last night after almost a week with me in my bed. I was a little worried that she'd cough up a lung or something in the middle of the night and need my help getting it out, so she slept, propped up on pillows next to me.
Funny thing about that - I put her in my spot and slept on Phil's side of the bed, which has never been slept on (new mattress since he was home on leave) and it just felt weird so I didn't sleep well at all! Not to mention getting up every 4 hours for a breathing treatment.
Anyway, I can do the breathing treatments ever 6 hours today, and then go to 8 tomorrow. She goes back to the Dr. on Monday for a recheck. I'm sure she's getting better, but I think she's still teething, so fussy and wanting mommy to hold her all the time.

SHOOT IT'S COLD HERE!
Mackenzie and I are freezing our tails off in Nebraska right now. Our weeklong trip is quickly coming to a close. We've frenetically visited family and friends and haven't been at a loss for any lunch or dinner companions this week.
This poor child must be wondering where we are that we have to put on 3 layers of clothes and a blanket just to go from the car to the house and back! She knows she's not home, that's for sure!
While we've been here, she has cut tooth #2 - the other she cut on her 5 month birthday, and has really got to know and like her cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents. I think she has a certain fondness for Uncle Tom, Grampa Jim and definitely Ayden and David who have all managed to make her laugh histerically! (notice, they are all boys? The little flirt!)
Anyway, just wanted to let anyone who may be reading knwo that I haven't forgotten to update the page - we've just been busy! :)

5 months went by so fast!!!!!
So Mackenzie turns 5 months old on Friday. I can't believe it was 5 months ago next Monday that I saw my husband last. And he's coming home in less than 3 months!!!!! I've got so much to do before he gets here - like lose about 20 lbs., steam clean the carpets, maybe clean out the flower beds - they are so overgrown it's disgusting.... and a few other odds and ends. Somehow all that I did 6 months ago with organizing and stuff has "recluttered" itself. I really need someone to help me get rid of some of my clutter. What's that show on TLC or A&E - the one where they get rid of all their junk at a garage sale? I need them - Clean Sweep, right? Yeah - I need them!
I tend to hang onto paper. I'm not sure why - but last summer when I was organizing, I got rid of old class notes and training materials, and just loads of paper. Why is that? What is wrong with me? Is there a classification for a condition like mine - paper hoarder? :) I just gotta get rid of it!
Any suggestions?

Happy 2008!
Ok, so I finally have 5 minutes to sit and think about our blog. I've got some really cute photos of Mackenzie and her cousins Ethan and Jordan in front of the Christmas tree at "Uncle" Staci and Uncle Jake's house this Christmas. (Yes, I think Staci thinks its kind of cool that she is an uncle - because she referred to herself as "Uncle Staci" when she was talking in third person to Mackenzie.) I will have to upload those soon so everyone can see them.
As for the gifts, as you can imagine - a 4 1/2 month old child has no interest in her presents except to eat the paper they came in. We almost had an incident with some tissue paper that got soggy and ended up in her mouth, but mom rescued her before it became serious.
On the food front - the baby enjoyed Rice cereal throughout the month of December and came home to begin a new regimen of Oatmeal. I think she liked the Rice cereal better, but she's acquiring the taste for the oatmeal. I think it's just such a different texture, that she's trying to get used to it. I bought some sippy cups for her, and put water in them and let her "test drive" them during her cereal feasts. It's kind of cool to watch her grab the handles and bring it up to her mouth. She LOVES water! I think I will stay away from the juice for awhile.
She had her 4 month shots yesterday and seems to be doing much better after this round than the first round. She's acting a lot more normal than she did last time. Maybe last time I expected her to feel sick so she did, and this time I expected her to do better so she is!? Who knows......
As for resolutions - I don't really make them. I am trying to stay away from the fat and sugar I've been consuming for the past 6 months, and I am making a strong effort to get on the treadmill every day. Let's just say that when the baby wakes up 5 times a night (which she did last night) it is hard to want to put on tennis shoes and a jog bra instead of heading back to bed at nap time. But I did it! Even if it was only for 20 minutes!
Happy New Year! I'd love to hear your resolutions!
